Hello World,

I am here today to talk to you about one website that I myself check multiple times a day for all its updates. I am speaking to all you music lovers that have any interest in the latest Dubstep, Electro, Hip-Hop, Rock and Mash-Up music. This site is updated multiple times a day and appeals for me at least to many of my musical interests. I am able to get my daily fix of mind rattling bass as well as mash ups of my favorite songs all in one place. SO if you have the same needs as me check out Findnewjams.com

Being a bit of a music junkie I check quite a few of these websites, these range from blogs to facebook pages and everything in between. I use these to get my daily fix of new music. I love adding music to my library and unfortunately only have about half of my library on this computer but have concluded that if I had all the songs from home as well I would have close to 20,000 songs.

I find the thought of pirating music awful but at the same time being a broke ass college student I unfortunately do not have the funds to pay for the new CD’s I so desire. Luckily to lesser my guilt most of the music I have started to listen to as of late is not any CD’s and usually can just be downloaded off the artists website.

For those interested in other websites that post new music regularly you can head over to Freshnewtracks.com

THE Music Magazine

Rolling Stones Magazine, the king of all music and music culture magazines since 1967. Rolling Stones magazines are packed from the first page to the last with everything any music junkie could ever want to know about the most recent music news. Since its first published copy the Rolling Stone magazine has been on the best selling stands with its very well known cover page. The cover page has featured every major musician from John Lennon to Lil Wayne as well as a comedian or actor here and there. I believe it is such a recognizable cover that has made Rolling Stone the popular magazine it is today. The publishers use these musical icons on their covers to gain the attention of potential buyers. These big names on the cover can be considered symbols and they areput there based on what is popular in the present. In powertool terms Rolling Stone magazines uses beautiful people and symbols on their covers to attract buyers, which if used correctly will never fail them. The people of the world will forever be interested in music news, because really who doesn’t want to get behind the scenes of a rock stars life or hear what their favorite artist has to say about politics.

What makes Rolling Stone unique is that it covers such a wide variety of music. This variety covers all genres of music, which can be its cause of success, by not limiting itself to just one style of music such as some magazines like Vibe or XXL, which limit themselves to only fans of hip-hop. Rolling Stone has covered every story in almost every genre of music for decades writing reviews, stories and interviews that use the basic principle of “Value Messages”. Being such a popular magazine the value messages have a somewhat drastic effect on musician’s. Perhaps not as much now a day but before the days of youtube and iTunes where we can listen to any song at anytime people could read reviews on albums and tours and obviously a negative review led to negative results for that particular artist.

Rolling Stone will always be one of the greatest music magazines of all time, it tells all that anyone could ever want to know about music.

The Media Musical #1

In todays world of media one of the major things that it allows its users to do is listen, download, share as well as multiple other things with music. I personally own an ipod touch which allows me to listen to which ever of my 8,940 songs in my music library that I so desire to at any given time. This alone is remarkable considering a decade ago in 2001 the first Ipod was released by apple which only allowed the storage of 5gb which is nothing compared to the 68gb hard drives that are in some of the newer models of ipods.

C.E.O Of Apple Steve Jobs Introducing Itunes 10

Most computer users know that if you are going to be listening to music on your computer you are going to want Itunes to manage and even share your music if you so desire. (Do not share your music it is illegal!) Apple has completely taken over the music part of media, there used to be Napster and Limewire but now there is the Itunes store. The large majority of people in the United States that own an mp3 player have an Ipod or Iphone without a doubt because they simply are so much better than any other portable music player.

Apart from buying music on an application such as Itunes there are all sort of music sharing websites that allow users to download and/or listen to a wide variety of music. Two of these websites that I check on a regular basis to find new music are FindNewJams and HipHopEarly, of course these are just two of the millions of websites that share music. The biggest of these is youtube where you can listen to basically any song you can think of.

Just like that I was able to search an artist I like on youtube and listen to all sort of music by them as well as watch whatever music video I want that has been released by that specific artist.

It is a crazy thought to think about how far music in media has come in the last decade and how far it will go in the next.

Mmboyuh

Conor Simmons from Yarmouth, Maine. A fun media experience I had over break was being able to use torrents again. Torrents are an easy way to download files but are undownloadable here at school unfortunately so it was nice being able to make full use of that at home. One thing I like about the modern media would probably have to be the social networks, it makes being social away from friends and family so much easier and its also a great time killer. One thing I do not like is how bad the wireless internet is here at champlain, its quite a bother. In the future I have hopes of being a 1st grade teacher.
